IRLY Distributors Ltd. was founded in 1963 by a small group of Vancouver dealers. From the need of these independent dealers to pool their resources to meet competition, this company has grown into a fully integrated distributor and marketing support system for its member dealers.  The original retail trade name was IRLY BIRD with the IRLY portion standing for Independent Retail Lumber Yard.  In recent years the name was changed to IRLY Building Centres to better identify the stores as a complete building supply store.

IRLY Distributors has always been committed to marketing, as well as pool buying, and the Warehouse developed from the need for an assured supply of advertised product as conventional distributors were not reliable. From a small rented facility in New Westminster, the operation has grown to a facility of 100,000 sq. ft. of warehouse on 8 acres of land with rail spur, centrally located in Surrey with access to major traffic routes. The company is now a complete distributor of approximately 13,000 SKU’s of product directly related to the needs of the Building Supply and Hardware Retailers needs..
